Welcome to my website dedicated to my 1982 Fiat 124 Spider 2000. I acquired this car as a friend of a friend thing in December 2003. The guy parked it at his friend's house (who is consequently a friend of the family) and hasn't driven it in over a year due to a blown radiator. Basically he just wanted to get rid of it and I jumped quickly at the prospect of a free car. I didn't even know what a Fiat Spider looked like until then and now I love these little cars. Unfortunately, of all the Spider's out there this one had to be automatic which I despise with a passion; however, since it is such a rare thing on these cars I don't feel so bad about it and it was free =)
This website is hopefully going to be a chronicle of this ignored car's restoration. As you will see in the pictures the body is in need of a lot of work. This is going to be a very low budget restoration, for the meantime I am going to be content with just stopping the rust from spreading before I worry about patching the holes and filling the body. As of yet I have not evaluated the extent of damage to the radiator or the condition of the engine. The interior is in remarkably good condition considering the age of the car and the fact that it has sat uncovered (with a hole in the top no less) for quite a while. This car is basically going to be my toy and my way of learning to some of the body work, engine work, and interior work that I don't yet feel comfortable doing on my Porsche.
Until I get this a bit more organized, here are the pictures of the car in various conditions. These pictures are all thumbnails and can be clicked on to enlarge them.
